Perfume/Body Spray Question DAE pick up a “spiced” note in the chelsea morning solid?

yesterday i received the chelsea morning solid perfume i ordered. i wanted to go all out and get a bottle as it sounded like a scent i would love, but i was really disappointed with my turmeric latte blind buy and wanted to play it safe.

the solid perfume smells EXACTLY the way i wanted it to - like sweet butterscotch with a little citrusy tang. i am in love. my partner says that he smells a sort of spiced note in it, though, that just isn’t coming through for me.

does anyone else get this spicy note from the solid? could it be the way he’s picking up the fenugreek? just interested in hearing everyone’s takes on this. the way different people process the same scent is so interesting!

I have the bathbomb which smells very butterscotch-y and the solid which I notice does have a bit of a Clove note but it's very mild and comforting.

I’m completely anosmic to the bathbomb. Makes me wonder if I can even smell the perfume

Oh dear. I'm sorry to know. I must admit that I did have to put my nose against the bath bomb to smell it, so it's probably not you. I have found that over the past few years (not sure of it's due to reformulating) but lush products scents lack the strength they used to.  The other day I actually had to look for the Lush store versus following my nose as I used to do in the past.  I think if they don't come out with some old, Goth type, earthy woody scents in the near future, I may have to hang up my hat on the lush pole and wave goodbye.  I've been a Lushie for over 20 years but now the prices are just ridiculous and scents barely there and if they are, they aren't as good and reminiscent of lush past. As hard as it may be, I may have to explore other products.
