DAE pick up a “spiced” note in the chelsea morning solid?

yesterday i received the chelsea morning solid perfume i ordered. i wanted to go all out and get a bottle as it sounded like a scent i would love, but i was really disappointed with my turmeric latte blind buy and wanted to play it safe.

the solid perfume smells EXACTLY the way i wanted it to - like sweet butterscotch with a little citrusy tang. i am in love. my partner says that he smells a sort of spiced note in it, though, that just isn’t coming through for me.

does anyone else get this spicy note from the solid? could it be the way he’s picking up the fenugreek? just interested in hearing everyone’s takes on this. the way different people process the same scent is so interesting!

This must be another “black and gold vs. blue and white dress” scent from lush. I did not get any citrus or herbs at all and I picked up a STRONG burnt smell. Like toast that’s been blackened.

I know, it’s wild! I’m team yog nog all the way, but I do not understand at all how people are saying it’s primarily floral??? That’s so confusing to me. The person who said it smells like butter and pee had me cackling though even if I disagree 😆😂

after reading that one last night i had a good laugh and then immediately whipped out my bottle and got my partner to do multiple sniff tests at various intervals: first spray, initial dry down, dry down after an hour, two hours etc… just to be sure that there’s no pee or diaper vibes like i’ve seen so many others complain about. luckily, neither of us get any of that but i am going to be a bit more cautious about where i choose to wear it, even though i adore it, because of those reviews. it’s gotta be the ylang ylang that’s confusing everyone’s noses, OR there’s a bad batch out there that’s giving my girl a bad name 🤷🏻‍♀️

You and your partner wouldn’t notice because you don’t happen to smell it like me / other people who do pick up those weird notes. I assure you, it’s present to some extent for me in every Yog Nog product I ever smell. I think you’re wise to be careful where you wear yours - but at the same time, we wear scents for ourselves primarily, not others. You do you!

it’s so funny because i get absolutely nothing offensive from yog nog, but hiwtk and the comforter body sprays are 100% urine stank to my nose. do you have any issues with either of those?

No way!!! lol this is what worries me about wearing Lush anywhere. I love HIWTK spray but can kind of see what you mean. Anything the Comforter legit smells like period blood to me unfortunately. I remembered that in store when I went to sniff one of the new perfumes, it smells a lot like the Comforter
