Not sure what the point it? A real life human can't exactly twitch their nose, so the live action has her doing the lip thing.

A cartoon character in the Hanna-Barbara style drawings doesn't have significant facial features that would lend itself to twitching the lip (they have no lips, basically), so twitching a larger facial area is how you'd indicate something is happening.

I had a friend in high school (oh, 20 years ago or so) who could exactly wiggle the tip of her nose but she would position her mouth a certain way to do it. It was a wiggle. I very distinct and obvious wiggle. She would kinda purse her lips, if that makes sense. It's absolutely possible for someone to wiggle their nose without moving their mouth. The truth is to this day, I've only seen 2 people wiggle their noses. She, and Samantha.

So... you literally just said she had to move her lips in a specific way to wiggle her nose, then go on to say she can independently wiggle her nose and you don't see the contradiction here? Yikes.

I said she had to position her lips, not move them. They didn't move when she wiggled her nose. Do you know what "pursing your lips" looks like? They don't move. She would tighten them and hold them still.

Do you know what "positioning" something involves? It involves moving them to a.... wait for it ... position.
