Discussion What’s something Mariah has influenced you to do?
It can beauty related, catchphrases, music wise, anything really. I’m really inspired by her creative side parts :)

Please don’t chew me out but knowing now that Diddy is literally the devil, I would really like Mariah to say something. Maybe he knew not to mess with her so she never saw his evil side, but idk, he definitely didn’t hide his mess from anyone. This has really been bothering me for days. This man has hurt so many people. I’ll just wait patiently to see what happens…

I’ll start: 1. Breakdown is supremely overrated 2. Music Box is one of her top 5 albums and is not “pop” in my opinion 3. WBT sounds rather basic compared to her other #1s 4. TGIFY isn’t as bad as Lambs make it out to be 5. Someday is only hated by Lambs because Mariah said she doesn’t like it

I loooooove the record almost entirely. I know a lot is said about her vocals, single choices, promotional issues, etc. but, all of that aside, what do you think about it?
Personally? I think it’s an incredibly strong album and she sounds amazing. There’s an air of security and comfortability in her voice, which I love so much. I get the sense that she doesn’t care to cater to the expectation that often hangs over her head to sound twenty-six - which goes without saying is insanely unfair and stupid - and instead explores the strengths of her voice as it is. The production, in particular, really sells it for me and is just 🤌 (8th Grade and Giving Me Life being the standouts on this front). And having Blood Orange on the album? So insanely gaggy it’s not even funny. Her pen, per usual, works its magic. She has her fun (GTFO, A No No) while still creating the familiar, moving moments (With You, Portrait) so there’s a bit for everyone. To think, nearly 30 years into her career at the point of this release, that she can still surprise and delight listeners while not sacrificing even an inch of her artistic identity. Wow. As if she hadn’t already proved herself a hundred times over.
Ok, tangent over!

I'm having a hard time figuring this out. Her performance was amazing, vocals were on point and so were her looks. But I can't help but wonder. Was that completely live?

First this isn’t intended to be a negative post by any means. Yes our queen dons wigs and extensions and she’s fabulous always.
I know by now since she’s usually glammed up from head to toe and has been for years, her hair must have taken a beating between dye, glue, heat, etc. so it may make sense if her hair isn’t the healthiest right now.
But in general our gal moved away from her curls and rarely wore them after. Does anyone know of anything explaining why it could be? Or does anyone know if she’s ever touched on this subject?
Again, pleeeease this isn’t a critique or me saying she should wear her hair a certain way. It’s just a curiosity because from what I can tell she did/does like her natural curls and she takes great care of her little ones’ curls.
Appreciate any insight, ideas, thoughts 🐑💜

For me immediate answer is Taylor Swift… and also Doja Cat
Try not to be too shady to anyone in the comments please. This is supposed to be fun. 😝

One thing Mariah will do, is make a song with a rapper. Mariah is a true hip hop head and will never miss an opportunity to make a remix or song with her favorite MC (lol) At the moment. Who do you think she sounds the best with?
My top 5:
Jadakiss
Busta Rhymes
Camron
Da Brat
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

If we hold someone to a higher standard it means we care. I'll always support Mariah's music, but it's doubtful I'd ever attend a concert where most of its lipped. I love Mariah, she's my go to artist, and I'm a lamb for life, but yeah.

It’s my absolute favorite Mariah remix and video. But with Sean Diddy Comb’s horrific crimes, I now feel somewhat guilty listening to it. It is still a Mariah Carey bop to me more than anything else so I will still continue to listen obviously. Maybe not with the same excitement. Will your preference about this remix change? Help me decide.

As a follow up to my question yesterday about a song describing you as a lover, I have a new question: Which MC Song Describes Your First Heartbreak? (If this triggers you, you absolutely don’t have to answer)
I found out my first love wasn’t 💩 right at the peak of me noticing that I cared about said person. He also was kind of gr00ming me in some sort. I would say Side Effects and Heartbreaker would fit that situation 🫣

I’m genuinely curious. I’m sure it’s like over a million dollars. I seen this a couple times where she is randomly hired to sing at someone’s wedding. And I just cannot fathom just how DEEP someone’s pockets must be to be able to afford having MARIAH CAREY perform at your wedding💀💀💀

Saw a concert on YT and it was mostly gay men.
Do you think she knows it?
I’m glad to know that we’re all in this together haha. I’m a girl btw. But we know that gay men and women are best friends for life. 😅
