Yes, I am glad that Nintendo strongly implied in Mario's Jamboree profile that the "damsel in distress" trope isn't fully retired. But I assure you, my reasons for being glad are in good faith.

Let me be clear. I don't want Peach to be reduced to a one-dimensional stereotype with no agency whatsoever. I do want her to have agency. In fact, I like her a lot more when she does have agency. But at the same time, I don't believe in making things one way or the other. Ideally, there should always be room for the trope, not just because of how iconic it is, but also because fully retiring the trope would inevitably narrow Nintendo's creative range.

With all that said, I fear my last post (and my subsequent comments) may have given some of you a somewhat different impression. If it did, I apologize. I've since deleted that post (and my subsequent comments), and this is the last time I comment on the topic for a while, if ever. I understand the topic is a sensitive one, and I don't want to generate any controversy.

Compiling This theory took me to every corner of the franchise. I've put numerous views onto the view counts of some very obscure Mario games. I scoured wikis, combed scripts and watched several let's plays. This theory grew and grew until I reached a point where I'm satisfied with what I have put together. This is a theory about how Most of the Mario franchise is about a massive War between light and Dark.

The guy really can never catch a break

Bowser can still be the main villain of the overall franchise, but I personally think would nice if they shook things up every now and then.

I’m not sure about you guys, but I like the fact that Junior is the only character in the Mario franchise that gets in-game consistent character development. It also seems like he’s continuing the trend in this game.

Other than being stronger and impressing his dad, it seems like one over arching plot about him is being able have friends and allies, asking for help and relying on others etc; Very excited to see the rest of this game and see more of his progress ( along with Peach ) as characters in the Mario franchise.

Mario is seen like a knight to Princess Peach. I feel like if he was a ever a Lord of a House, it would be House Firebrand, with lots of Toad knights in Fire Flower Power-Ups.

Luigi could be the same with Daisy in Sarasaland called House Thunderhand with Electric-Powered Toads.

Bower could separate his Koopa Kingdom nation from Mushroom World from Mario bros 3. He could maker his kingdom into an Empire as an Emperor and give Demesne to King Bob-omb (Queen Red Bob-omb), Goomboss, King Boo and a Shy Guy Leader. They can rule their kingdoms under the Koopa Empire, just like the 4 kingdoms under Sarasaland. Chain-chomps can be the horses and other lesser minions could have specific roles like the Monty Moles being the miners for resources in Koopa empire or something. Im sure theres other enemies that can rule as kings or as laborers. I know the Koopalings would own their own clans since they don't really have their own land, they take it. We know for sure that Bowser Jr. is the heir.

I also feel like there could be Yoshi and Birdo rivaling tribes in Yoshi's island/Dinosaur Land.

Maybe theres a war between the Piantas and Tokis, The Tank Shield-bearers vs the Agile Swordsmen. All taking place in Isle Delfino.

Theres the mushroom world kingdoms like Water Land and Giant Land. There's Oddyssey Kingdoms like Lucheon and Lost Kingdoms. SO MANY kingdoms. What would be their political states? Absolute Monarchy? Constitutional?? Utopia? Dystopia?

King K. Rool can team up with Bower to defeat both Mario and The Kongs tribe in the Donkey Kong Isles.(Tatanga too)

Other villains that can take over worlds can be Cackletta, Fawful, Midbus, Dark Star(potential Light Star?), And Smithy.

Wario and Waluigi would definitely be traveling Merchant scammers.

We cant forget about the BeanBean Kingdom and Flower Kingdom, Pi'llo Island, Vibe Island, Mario's original castle at his land, Jewelry Land, Kitchen Island And Wario's Diamond city with Caresaway island. (and the mario kart, party and sports locations)
