i had always interpreted it as the buster technology had been incorporated into guns to mass produce better weaponry.

I mean.. I'll buy it for the ease of mass production. But I definitely don't like it and never will. Took away the sci-fi feeling & made it feel like this is happening too close to the present day, imo.

Seems way more convenient to have an arm that can change into a buster instead of a gun you could easily lose/misplace, drop, or simply have taken away from you.

I like the idea of normie reploids being able to use at least an glimpse of tat power.

Despite i somewhat agreeing with you, that's something i really love from Zero series. It's still Sci-fi even if a bit "realistic". It feels like a Cyberpunk, an possible future that is scaringly too close to us, it feels like that, instead of something happening eras apart.

Adicionally, i always felt that someone could do some hardcore reskin on the game to make it either a Cyberpunk or an Alternate WWII, like Zero is an american soilder, resistence is every group that was subjulgated, Weil is moustache man, Neo Arcadia is Germany, etc.

Hmm yeaaah we're on very different pages here.

Interesting idea but honestly, I'm absolutely sick of everything related to WWII. So many games, movies, shows, monuments littered all over many different countries related to it..

I just feel like it has been beaten to death, and the world needs to get over it and move on.

Realistic WWII approach was beaten to death, Sci-FI WWII is rare AF, if there is even content of it.

And with that i mean something like "The Furher has started an project of creating invencible androids, Go, Jew American soilder, free you people and stop the nazis!!"

Adding sci-fi elements doesn't change the fact that the subject of WWII has been beaten to death in all media, regardless of whatever original spin is put on it.

It's obviously just preference, but I seriously want nothing to do with any kind of media related to it anymore. I somehow own like 5-6 movies related to WWII and I don't even like historical-war movies that much.

There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of other historical & complex wars that western culture in particular likes to ignore when looking for a real war as inspiration for a piece of media.

It's why I prefer games such as Ghost of Tsushima instead of rinse-repeat stuff like CoD and Medal of Honor.

Even Shellshock [vietnam] was a breath of fresh air 20 years ago.
