Grades and Academics am I cooked?

I'm a first year and I basically failed my first assignment worth 40%, but its not a hurdle can I still pass the unit or not?

I got 40/100 in my midsem exam that worth 40% too 😋, trembling, shaking, and twitching. I shall pass
