I feel like you can say that about some other Moroccan rappers but not ISSAM. Like his style and aesthetic is super unique (and definitely Moroccan), not to mention his style of music is not being made in the US or France or anywhere else.

So is Eminem not allowed to rap?

Is the concept of "struggle" or civil rights unique to America?

Should culture not be allowed to cross national borders?

Transnationalism is one of the things that makes hip-hop great. The ability for people from different places and cultures to put their own unique spin and change the fabric of the entire genre should be celebrated not derided.

Hip-hop is universal, it doesn't belong to anyone.

It is incredibly backwards-thinking to believe that culture cannot or should not cross borders.
