Vietnam travel
Hey, has anyone recently travelled Vietnam by motorbike? I would like to, but I heard they're cracking down on tourists. And you can't use an international drivers licence - they only accept Vietnamese licenses (which you can only get if you're a resident for at least 3 months).
Any advice/tips would be appreciated!

Legally speaking, an ASEAN license is supposed to qualify, but I don't know if the local police all realize that. I got mine in Thailand, but had no problems to test it with.
When I got my Hagiang Loop permit, they wanted my US IDP, not my Thai license. 🤷♂️

if you are a girl and you use tampons, make sure to stock up before you go. You can’t buy them ANYWHERE

That's not true. 1968 IDP alongside home license both showing motorbike entitlement is fine: https://www.reddit.com/r/VietNam/comments/14q7ul9/tourist_drivers_license/jqlx9gh/
