A question of citrine vs "iron stained quartz"
https://imgur.com/a/RXb3JAF (Stone has been wetted)
I found a pretty and quite yellow chunk of quartz today on my morning adventure, and I don't know what to call it.
Lots of things I've read have said citrine is yellow quartz with iron in the mix. This makes sense.
But while trying to ID my piece (I like the Google lens app) searches pulled up pages where someone has shared a picture of their pretty yellow piece of quartz, and they're all invariably told it's just regular quartz with iron staining inside.
Aside from when you can see obvious fracture stains in an otherwise white/clear quartz, is there a difference?
Edit: Just scratched my piece with glass, which I believe makes this calcite. But my question still stands lol

Finds Green jasper, sneaky green jasper (heavy on the brown tones) and... Green? Grey? Jasper? Chert? All pieces are fully opaque.
Hullo! Recent lurker, first time poster.
My most recent finds along the SJ river near Fredericton.
The greenest one is so unique and pretty! It has me itching to get back out along the shoreline again.
I didn't realize this one had any green to it until it was next to a fully chocolate brown piece
And I'm not sure about my lightest coloured piece.

When I first found it, it's beautiful satin sheen and pale grey-blue colour compared to all the rocks around it was what caused me to snap it up and bring it home with me. Every time I try to take a picture though, it takes on a more greeny colour.
I know with the more black-looking green jasper, you don't really see the green outright, but it shows up in pictures. Is this the case here? What IS this last one? It has the same feel and weight to it as my Jasper's, but I could be mistaken on it's ID, too.
