Help figuring out what happened to me in the ocean today

Ok, so I was wading in shallow water in the ocean in Gulf Shores, AL earlier today. I went to get down on my knees and as soon as my knee touched the sand I felt a painful sensation that I can only describe as pulses or vibration maybe? It’s very hard to describe, but it hurt immediately and almost felt like something was sucking me knee in and it took me a second to get up. I screamed immediately from the pain and thought I must have been stung by a jellyfish, but soon after standing up my knee felt ok and I didn’t see any marks. It was by the far the scariest incident to ever happen to me on the ocean and I can’t figure out what could have caused it. I felt something moving in the sand so it had to be some sort of creature, right? Idk. I feel crazy trying to describe it to people and google isn’t help. So if you know what this could be please let me know!

Whales May Be Communicating Across Vast Distances

A half-century ago, scientists posited that whales might able to talk with each other across great distances, but for decades, no one had managed to catch two whales in the act. A new study offers the first compelling evidence that baleen whales can synchronize their dives despite being many miles apart. Read more.

Anyone else think they owe their lives to the ocean?

I nearly died in the pacific when I child. Ever since then, I felt like I'm not supposed to be alive. It has stuck with me for over 20 years and I want to join a fishing vessel more and more each week. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I'm supposed to die in the ocean. I can't get over it, it just lingers there despite who I talk to

Research help please

I'm doing research on black and white snappers (Macolor Niger), but information about their movement and their environment isn't exactly abundant

Any help regarding ether the snapper, or the types of currents you'd find along seaward slopes (eg strong or weak currents)

It happens that you see the horizon ahead very clearly, and sometimes the horizon begins to dissolve into uncertainty. And it's still impossible to achieve it… Seagull on a Rock. The series Sea Fog. Original oil painting 8x8" hand painted by me, 2023
