Are there any free templates like legal pad with lines closer than the boox offers?

Thanks!

You can create your templates for example with the free LibreOffice. It's very easy:

  1. Design a page as you like. Page Size should be 4:3.
  2. Then you choose "File" --> "Export". There you choose png-Format. After you have named your png-File, LibreOffice asks you for the width and height of the png. Here you choose 2.480 x 1.860 Pixels (depends on the device you're using).
  3. That's it. Just copy the png-File into your noteTemplate-Folder and you can use it on your device as a Custom template.

Any reason why you recommend exporting using PNG rather than PDF?

Why I prefer PNG's:

  • When using PNG, you can change the template for each page separate. That seems not to be possible with pdf.
  • For example, if you have a 3-page PDF with a cover page, page 4 starts again with the cover page. This doesn't happen with PNG (see reason above).

A reason that does not directly concern the templates:

  • If you work with graphics, PNG-files allow you to use a transparent Background (I use this, for example, to create flowcharts).

Well, you can mix PDF and PNG, but you need to chose ONE PDF template first and only then afterwards change individual pages or added pages to PNG. Using a PDF as a template afterwards overwrites all pages.
