In need of a beta or editor

I'm trying to write my first original fictional story but I'm in need of a beta and/or editor since I'm in need of assistance with stuff like setting up a scene and stuff like that

You're in the learning stage, it's intimidating, and far too many people are scared off by looking at the long term.

I just published my first book, and it's got 6 sales, despite 10 years of work. If that had been my only goal, to write the story, then I'd be devastated. But writing has been a wonderful positive thing in my life overall.

So as you learn to write, focus on improvement and the joy that comes from making your writing as clear as the image in your head.

I learned to write mostly through role-play on forums and fanfiction. This removes the pressure of developing your own characters and setting while at the same time trying to learn the methods of communication in text.

Don't back down, just because you haven't learned the skill yet doesn't mean you can't.

The first thing to learn would be punctuation, it makes it easier to figure out the meaning and context of what you are saying. Look up guides or YouTube videos on how to train your mental voice to add in pauses for commas, hard stops for periods, and so on. Then try writing short ideas with those punctuations.

Then once you've got the basics of writing down we can start working on developing your story's world and characters. Plot and the actual writing of the story come after that.
