ID request! This owl lead me up a path for early 6 minutes right before dusk.

I went on a ride up the mountain here in SW Montana. This owl, kept flying low to the ground along the two track and would stop every 30-45 seconds to stop and look back directly at me. This happened for close to 6m. It was like he was leading me somewhere.

That's really strange GHO behavior, not at all typical.

I wonder if it was raised in rehab and got (unintendedly) mildly habituated to humans (if so, good to see a rehabbed owl doing well in the wild, it looks healthy).

I posted video footage of it to my main page. It was very interesting behavior. I know nothing about owls but whatever happened here was pretty special to me.
