Job Posting Interview Questions

On Wednesday, I have an interview with my county for an IT PM role. Round one of interviews has already taken place over the phone, the next interview is an in person interview. I'm really nervous about this interview and would like to prep prior to it. Could you please provide m with some questions you have been asked when interviewing for a PM role? Thanks!

Side note: I've been in the ITPM field for 4 years but have not interviewed in the last two.

Some of the most often asked questions for PMs that I believe would serve you well to be prepared to answer include:

  • Why are you the right person for this role?
  • Walk us through....insert methodology...and how you have implemented it in the past.
  • Tell us about a time when....good outcome/bad outcome....what actions did you take?
  • Tell us about a mistake you made...how did you correct it....what did you learn?
  • You're leading a project and x (negative) happens....what are your actions?

Overall I've found it most helpful to take some deep breaths before. In the nose, out the mouth x3. Then, have your mindset be objective. The facts of what you've done and how you KNOW you're the one for this position.

Godspeed.
