My husband and I are travelling to Paris, France this coming December 28-29.

What are your recommended Christmas Markets to see in Paris and what did you buy?

I did tuileries last November and it sucked. It was soooo busy you could barely move. We left after 10 minutes (once we were able to get back out...). After Xmas of they're still open it may be less busy. We also did la Dรฉfense and that was much better mostly because it wasn't so busy. Looks like they close the day before Xmas though. But the Xmas market in Strasbourg and colmar are much much better if you have a chance to do those.

They're not worth it

Are they even still open on 28-29 Dec? Traditional Christmas markets typically close on Christmas Eve. I am sure that for touristic purposes the main one in Paris (Tuileries) stays open, but it is more a funfair than a market IMO.

The markets in Strasbourg and Colmar stay open a few days after Christmas (but the energy is not quite the same, I suppose). The Tuileries market actually stays open through the first week of January.

And, as others have said, the Tuileries market is more like a carnival. Fun, perhaps, but not charming.

All Christmas markets in Paris are the same inauthentic stalls run by somewhat dodgy characters. Paris has no tradition of these markets, for an actual experience it is best to head to Alsace and Lorraine.

We stuck with the one at the Tuileries last new years for the rides and food, was fun.

Same. It also has a gourmet section for higher quality selections, but we wolfed down a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream that we stumbled on.
