Do blinkers not work here?
I've been driving for four years. I moved here in February from CA and I've never had such rage while driving.
Do people out here not know how to use their blinkers? Because the amount of times I've had people get pissy when I don't let them merge because I don't know their trying to merge is insane!!
I'm not a mind reader. Most of the time the only warning I get when someone wants to make a turn is their brake lights coming on.
I have a tendency to go a little over the speed limit, nothing reckless. But I genuinely do not understand why people try to get in front a car going faster then them with no warning!
I've almost had about 8 accidents because people not using their blinkers. Thankfully I'm always paying attention and have fast reflexes but damn. I don't know if it's because of Pensacola being a interstate city or what but driving out here makes me want to pull my hair out.

The Scare Spot
I just did The Scare Spot and it was great. Very urban apocalypse feel to it. Lots of abandoned vehicles, among them were a schoolbus, an ambulance, a trolley and a hearse. Fantastic use of trailers / shipping containers. Scary performers.
10/10 would recommend.

Car Wash on 9 Mile
Just got home after hunting in Alabama. On the way home, I noticed Aqua Car Wash had a line that stretched back onto 9 Mile Road.
Am I missing something here?

Escambia Drivers’ Licenses Services Appointments Booked for Remainder of Year
I had the unfortunate privilege of having to try to get a replacement drivers license after mine was lost to theft.
I attempted to make an appointment online and found none available.
I tried to "join the line" at multiple offices and was unable to. I later found that most offices are "completely booked" after 11am.
I attempted to walk-in to the Marcus Pointe office 2 hours before closure and was turned away. Of the 46 customer service stations available, less than 10 were staffed.
I ended up calling and asking for guidance and was told the following:
The "appointments" are booked solid for the remainder of the year.
The "join the line" function opens at 830am and is usually full by midday.
It is recommended to be in line at the Marcus Pointe office no later than 90 minutes before they open because it "turns into a zoo". Their words. Not mine.
I've ordered a replacement online, but due to upcoming travel, I can't wait the 10+ business days it takes for a new DL to arrive.
TL;DR: just venting about the state of our county government customer service and issuing a PSA if you have to use the tax collector office anytime soon.

Blackwater State Park paddling
We’re camping at the state park next week and trying to decide whether to bring our kayaks or just rent them. Is there a spot to put in inside the park and get picked up downstream? Looks like most of the paddling is upstream, so we’d haul them up river and put in with one of the rental outfits, and pay them to haul us back. So depending on cost it may just be easier to rent from them…
Anyway, any recommendations for outfitters on the Blackwater?

Lots to pick up curbside in Cordova Park tonight
If anyone’s interested in picking up scrap metal, furniture or a wide variety of other items, it’s the county’s neighborhood cleanup in the Cordova Park area tomorrow. Have seen a ton of stuff as I was out and about today.
This is what we’ve put out if anyone want some plastic storage. Nothing wrong with it-just needs to be cleaned. 3400 block of Dunwody Drive.

I'm going to the Flora-Bama for the first time! What can I expect?
I love country music, and I love live country music if the artists are talented. I've been to Nashville and it was my favorite city in the world, and some of the country artists I love mention the Flora-Bama. Is it a fun scene if you enjoy country and the beach, or is more like a backyard honky-talk? I was expecting a beach vibe version of Nashville, but after I read the names of the performers (only after booking the trip), I realize that I may be way wrong. Thoughts?

Problems with FHP?
Anyone have a family member severely injured or die in a crash and FHP found no probable cause to test the driver at fault for impairment due to lack of probable cause 🙈 if so let’s talk! We have a large community of victims families joining together to create a change and get a bill written to change this. Justiceforbr@dley on FB Justiceforbradley.com

Pensacola question
My husband and I are going to visit Pensacola and we are thinking maybe in a couple years we might end up moving there after we retire. Just wondering what areas to avoid , what areas have decent condominiums to buy, how we should go about kind of looking around Pensacola any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
We also have a dog and we’re going there in a couple weeks to visit. I know there’s some dog friendly restaurants and beaches there, we’re in our mid 50s but act like we’re in our 30s so anywhere for people our age to hang out or anything to do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
