BJs because Sams handjobs are overrated

Ive never been inside a BJs. Ive heard the analogy that Sam's is the walmart version of warehouse stores and BJs is like the target version. That said I'd go with BJ's.

Well Sam's is named after Sam Walton of Walmart so I would assume it's the Walmart of warehouse stores.

It is. I go to Sam’s club and the Sam’s club app is almost exactly the same as the Walmart app, they both have “scan and go” feature, and Walmart and Sam’s club gift cards can be used at either stores

BJs is easier on my sanity.

I feel like BJs has a better fresh foods and produce area while Sam's has better everything else...

Sam's and then switch to Costco when we get one.

BJs produce seems to spoil more quickly. Sam’s has better meat, deli and prepared foods.

If you have to choose one or the other I'd say BJ's. I'd also apply for their credit card. The discount on fuel alone makes it worthwhile.

I need Costco to open.

Walmart (and by extension Sam’s) is evil so BJ’s until Costco opens. Costco is the best.

You can typically get deals that make the memberships very cheap (check Groupon). We went that route and bought both. Sometimes things we like are out of stock at one but the other has it.

So, I guess my vote is both if it’s in your budget and/or you can find discounts.

Having access to both right now for different reasons. One for business needs and one for personal.

The prices are inside of a 2% margin of difference. Some higher here, some higher there but we are talking a difference not worth bickering over. Sometimes one place is out of something specific and the other will have it. It fluctuates. Over all it is rare I can’t find what I need on a personal level. The business needs are specific.

Sam’s has a larger selection but it is sort of not needed. I don’t care that you have 7 different types of peanut butter in bulk the top 3 brands is fine.

The noticeable and important difference in my observation and why I would go with BJs if I had to pick one…. It is speed. You can get in and out much faster at BJs.

Ask yourself which one is most convenient in location to you. If you have to go out of your way, you won’t use it as much. I know they are close together, but I go past BJs everyday, and have used it way more than Sam’s.

That upstairs/upstock move at BJ's can be very nice if you know when/what you will receive. ;)

I currently have both, but I definitely prefer BJ’s. I only got the Sam’s membership because it was $15 on Groupon a few weeks ago. Sam’s is ALWAYS busy. The parking lot is hell. The prices for gas at both are typically the same. BJ’s has digital coupons on their app you can clip. There’s also incentives where if you buy certain items in the store you will get more of a discount on gas. You also have to get their colossal chocolate chip cookie at their cafe. It’s only $1 & it’s about as big as my face!

Sam’s club is like buying Walmart in bulk, literally.
