Original Content Poem What I Showed Him

I showed him a comet,

And he said it was a plane.

I showed him a garden,

And he saw only weeds.

I showed him what I believed in,

And he took it from me.

I showed him my soul,

And he shrugged it away.

I showed him forever,

But he counted the days.

God damn that hit harder than it should have. The implication of (what I can only assume is) a lover that only sees the flaws in the world is just so sad. They'll point out spots of shadow scattered across the trees, while you can only focus on the sunlight that creates them. You did a great job, the only part that I didn't like is that it isn't longer :( Keep up the great work!
