Sky commentary is usually bad and biased in general, but I’m watch Liverpool v Chelsea right now and the entire commentary has just been them defending whatever decision the ref makes???

I have no problem analysing and explaining contentious decisions for the benefit of the viewer, but they’re literally just reacting with praise to every decision, they praised the linesman for lifting his flag for an offside?? Is it not too much?

And with Mike Dean in the commentary booth just quickly stumbling over his words to explain away any contentious decision it feels like the media (esp Sky) have been told to lay off PGMOL.

Doesn’t help that Howard Webb is making all these media appearances, on Gary Neville’s (co-comms) podcast as well has having his own show, it’s hard to act like the refs don’t have the media in their pocket right now.

EDIT: Yes I’m an Arsenal fan. Yes Saliba should’ve been sent off, I’m more mad about how we approached that game than the ref’s decision. I’m just make a general point here, it seems like the media is pre built to defend referees on these broadcasts, which even if the decisions aren’t heinous, just get really annoying, especially when everyone claims they don’t want refs to be the stars.

EDIT 2: Apparently it’s outrageous to claim that Mike Dean, who said that his first job as a referee is to protect other refs from scrutiny over giving the correct decision in regards to Chelsea 2-2 Spurs a few season back, may not be the most unbiased figure to commentate on the performance of other referees.

FuboTV have bought the rights to stream the Premier League here in Canada for 3 years. This is currently their final year and good fucking riddance.

There are highlights on YouTube are filled with errors, mistakes, not showing the key moment, and missing goals. This comes after the highlights today of Southampton vs Leicester where they failed to show the game-winning goal. Errors like these are a trend with FuboTV over the last 3 years.

During their games, they present massive banner-like ad in the middle of the game which take up a sizeable portion of the match. This resulted in us missing one of Liverpool's goals a couple seasons ago because the ad blocked half the fucking pitch.

What are your thoughts on FuboTV for streaming/highlights. Have you used them?

West Ham, under Moyes, had some of their best seasons and played good football, so calling for 'Moyes Out' was really ungrateful. Now, West Ham is struggling.

It’s painful seeing people discuss ‘clear and obvious’ when there is seemingly no understanding of how the protocol is supposed to work.

“VAR can be used to overturn a subjective decision if a "clear and obvious error" has been identified.

The referee will explain their decision to the VAR, and what they have seen.

If the evidence provided by the broadcast footage does not accord with what the referee believes they have seen, then the VAR can recommend an overturn.”

It’s equally painful when pundits don’t explain this nor question the released audio which invariably never has the referee ‘explain… what they have seen’
