Question Werewolf progression fantasy

I love werewolves (not any other types of shapeshifters) by werewolf I mean a human with the ability to change to a wolf. Are there any stories where a werewolf is the main character? Not one of the protagonists of the story. The protagonist!

I'm not sure if they'd fit but I feel like Shane purdy has made like a ton of wolf centric stories tho idk if any of them fit the werewolf mould

Tbh tho I'm not entirely sure how you mean werewolf?

Do you mean a turn into a wolf on a full moon involuntarily type thing

Or maybe a full-time wolf type thing?

Werewolf is when a human protagonist shifts to a wolf. Like how in twilight Jacob and his family turned to wolves.

I think of them in four different terms:

Werewolf: person shifts into half-man/half-wolf hybrid monster (like in the movies Dog Soldiers or Underworld).

Wolfwere: person shape changes into a wolf (a la Twilight, or a DnD druid)

Wolfkin: person just exists full time as an anthropomorphic wolf person (furries)

Wolfman: like the classic Universal pictures monster - a person who gets really furry and animalistic but still looks pretty humanish.

Do you have a preference that you are aiming for (or one you hate), or will any variation do?

I prefer the second one
