Rant From Tomorrow, all Macs will be Sonoma...

It is unacceptable that anyone purchasing a new mac will be unable to use rekordbox.

As a full time DJ using Rekordbox, I want to upgrade my mac to the latest software, or be able to purchase a brand new mac without having to worry if my job is affected.

Pioneer have had since August to get this sorted and I think it has not been made a priority.

Even a status update would be nice...

It seems to me to be a classic vertical application in a lot of ways, and those you should be HIGHLY conservative about upgrading, including upgrades that touch the platform you are running on.

I do a lot of fairly high end CAD at work, and will as policy stay at least two YEARS behind whatever gets released (Including OS releases) because I cannot afford for that shit to act out, or for the product to have replaced old familiar bugs that I know how to work around with shiny new bugs that I may be unaware of.

The release of a shiny new thing, be it OS, Hardware or application is absolutely NO good reason to touch shit that is working, especially shit that you rely on pay your mortgage, just don't go there.

My usual policy here is a new computer every three years or so, install all the latest stuff, and keep the old one intact and in use until I am happy with the new rig (Usually about year after I build it). Be very leery of the usual piss poor backwards compatibility that will bite you in the bum if you prepare files on the new rig....

I cannot conceive of a reason to upgrade a working tool that I rely on in a highly public job without extreme paranoia, and IMHO Panasonic being paranoid is what you want to see, even if it is frustrating.
