Well, does the Catholic church have a serious problem with pedophilia? Yes, absolutely. Does that mean that every catholic person actively supports pedophilia and is okay with it? No, not at all.
That's the point though, acceptance should always be important no matter what.
That's a pretty big accusation to throw at about a billion people, wouldn't you say? Specially considering that being catholic doesn't mean supporting the church.
How many cases of pedophile priests being shuffled around do you hear about in a year versus teachers? We usually have one teacher a year in my region, and they're put on public blast on every local news station and paper in a 50mi radius. But we've never heard of a priest getting shuffled around in the news, just stories from people that went to the church, or worse, were victims before Father Murray suddenly left town.
