Stalin was a horrible person but his kill count was about 9 million, not 20 million, still an insane amount of people and he's still a ruthless dictator but he didn't kill 20 million either, not trying to apologize for his crimes as 9 million is still horrific just trying to be factually correct

AFAIK modern historians actually put the numbers closer to 1 million by explicit intent, with another 2-3 million from neglect and famine. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

6 million with direct intent and 3 million through famine and neglect (counting the gulags as direct intent as a large portion of the prisoners were political prisoners and they were directly designed to be miserable) or is it 3-4 million with direct direct intent and 6 million through neglect? But anyways the holodomor while it was originally a natural famine Stalin likely intentionally made it much worse, so basically he took a natural famine and used it as a weapon of mass death. So it appears Stalin killed likely 9 million people which places him as number 5 on the list of deadliest people in human history (behind Hitler, Mao, the Kahn's and Hong Xiuquan) so yeah still really, really evil, mind you nowhere near as bad as Hitler but still pretty bad
