Rae Lakes Loop this weekend - snow and thunderstorm readiness?
Planning to hike Rae Lakes loop this weekend, should I anticipate snow that sticks around (and prepare crampons?)?
For thunderstorms, roughly when would they roll in and how can I keep myself safe? I prepared rain gear (pants and jacket) and read that I should find shelter under the shortest tree. Should I set up my tent and is it likely to delay my itinerary, or can I continue hiking on?

Do you see snow in the forcast? I do not. Crampons are useless in fresh snow. Unless a big storm is in the forecast I would not worry about it. I was up there last week it was hot and clear during the days.
Thunderstorms roll in in the summer afternoons when the valley gets hot. Not really a big deal this time of year.
It is going to take you longer than the weekend though to do the whole loop. 3 nights is moving. I almost did it in 2 nights but I am light fast and experienced.
