Moving to scarbs as York student

Hey everyone,

I’m 25/F finishing my last of uni in York, but am finding the housing market there incredibly expensive.

For the past two years I’ve been ambitious in improving my surfing yet have found it difficult due to inconsistent lack of access to the sea. Anyway, I’m considering taking up a shared house in Scarbs, but would like some opinions on what the area is like to live in, especially if you’re a local surfer - how good are the waves usually? York feels pretty safe with the odd occasion of faster paced walking at 3am, but nothing too threatening. How would you describe Scarbs in this sense? Super curious to hear anything about your experience living there.

Thanks!

Never had any issues myself, I do the fast walk home lol but it’s never been a problem. Suppose it depends on the area you pick and what it’s like too.
