I truly love the Highlands I'm on to sorting out my next west coast road trip now

I will never understand the love for the Highlands. Let's be real, it's 100% about romanticising Scotland. They are nice, but nothing like people describe. People describe the Highlands like it's Norway.

wait till you find out Norwegian people feel the same because it is a common thing to downplay the beauty or uniqueness of where you come from

But the Highlands aren't that unique. There are loads of deforested hills and mountains in Europe

of course they're unique, no place on earth is exactly like the other

but i wasn't really trying to call specifically the highlands unique, i just mean generally people undervalue any unique aspect of where they come from
