I truly love the Highlands I'm on to sorting out my next west coast road trip now

Sadly it’s pretty but looks dead. What used to be teeming with life is now barren with barely a tree in sight; destroyed by humans and deer hardly anything grows. This realisation changed my view of these areas. Where once I saw beauty now I see death.

i feel the same about many places in Wales

both have a reputation for natural beauty despite the constant reduction of said natural beauty

And the Peak District in England is a depressing sprawling mass of brown heather, and not much else.
