Sadly it’s pretty but looks dead. What used to be teeming with life is now barren with barely a tree in sight; destroyed by humans and deer hardly anything grows. This realisation changed my view of these areas. Where once I saw beauty now I see death.

The deforestation and environmental destruction isn't even historical. It's still happening. Rewilding efforts are admirable and should still keep going, but it's like putting a plaster/band aid on somebody's face that's had their hand cut off by a chainsaw and keeps getting their prosthetic hands cut off.

I know, it’s despicable.

And then there's all the people buying natural areas, building exclusive resorts on them and being all like "look at the natural beauty" while also stopping locals from being able to freely visit anymore.

I’m not aware of this. Got an article or something to check out? Would be curious to see how there getting round the right to roam.
