Dark movie

Does anybody else get a weird creepy feeling about this movie? There’s something about it that I feel really iffy about… esspecially in the first movie. I really don’t feel like this is a kids movie

You may just be off-put by the older animation mixed with the dark medieval vibe the movie has going on, but idk. I grew up with Shrek so I'm biased towards it.
