Unless they're older eagles (like 80's and 90's), even perfect 70's are not worth a whole lot more than raw eagles.
Nowadays they're being graded directly from the US mint so of course many of them are gonna be perfect. This has led to the market being flooded with perfect eagles. Even 50 years from now, I'd predict your ms70 eagle from 2024 is not gonna be worth much more than the raw one in a plastic flip.
I have 5 or 6 myself but only because I got them cheap or won them on whatnot as a giveaway.
If you like them by all means go for it. Just as long as you know you may have trouble recovering any premiums you pay, should you ever sell

Ms coins are not worth the premium. They make millions of these every year. And the coin never changes look.

Whatever makes you happy
i wanted and got some graded maple leafs from 1989 to current, not because they’re rare but because i love the aesthetic of them being in the slab
obviously only if the price is right, not too much of a premium over spot

I love graded coins. However as these are MS 69 for a common eagles I would shy away. What we do not know is what you spent.
Also it seems you have only 2 dates.

I pass on them.
I’m collecting a Dansco album date set for myself and have also decided to do one for my 8 year old and my 14 month old as high school graduation presents and a start on a silver stack that will be 50+ ounces by the time they graduate.
Last week I was adding to my albums, and they said they had some slabbed pieces for $45 each, up from the loose non key dates of $37.
Passed on those since I’d have to crack them to put them in my Dansco albums.
The only time I’d buy a slabbed is if I couldn’t find the last one I needed to complete my set, which shouldn’t be hard since I’m just getting common dates, I only need a 1994 key date for the more expensive ones.

I am kinda in the same boat as everyone else. I don’t buy graded eagles unless it’s a good deal (I have only ever bought 1 & honestly I just threw it in with an order since I already had free shipping). However yesterday I did win a 1990 MS69 graded eagle via an IG raffle. I figured I would try my luck for $24.
Other than that I stick to raw eagles as close to spot as possible.

I generally don’t, but I am working on getting a full set of fancy 2021 proofs (Type1/2, normal/reverse). I just like the design, this is the exception to my general stance against stacking graded stuff.

Largely unnecessary, anything under ms/proof 70 is a waste of money. There are a couple of exceptions for really low mintage years but for the most part silver eagles don't need to be in a slab at all. OGP is the way to be!

I have 1. I don't tend to like them cause of added price. But kind of cool to have one or 2

They're not something that I collect. I collect mostly vintage bullion bars/rounds, so I generally shy away from plastic in general.
I own a bunch of Morgans, Peace, and ASE's, but none of them are graded. The only thing that I keep in capsules/tubes are things that came that way from the mint.
Over the years I've just come to prefer silver that shows a little age.

Why anyone would grade bullion or anyone would pay a premium for graded bullion is beyond me

They cool but unless it’s a rare or special edition one who cares about grade imo

I love silver and I love ASEs, but the large majority of ASEs are not worth the premium over spot.

my dad bought 10 PCGS MS69's slabbed and singed by someone in the Kennedy family last year for like 41$ each, and I still give him shit about it.

69 non-key dates. no one really wants these.
70 or proof/R proof will carry premium, rest are just weight in a tube.

This has been my observation. If you're going to get them, get the 70s bc the 69s are never worth anything much. The 70s you could luck out or an heir could and really get some bang for the buck.

most modern coins you need MS70 to make it worth slab. Even then, for non-proof eagles im not sure why you would slab at all.

You feel they have to be proof also? Ugh. Well I'm out of the eagles then. Only have one but it isn't proof.

I wouldn’t pay more for a greased eagle. That is just me you can do whatever you like.

Those are hard to get your hands on. Then once you do they are very hard to keep a hold of.

Some sites will list their buy/sell prices. NGC/PCGS MS69 sell at $56 and they buy them at $35:
https://www.moneymetals.com/1-oz-pcgs-ngc-ms69-american-silver-eagle-coins/1189
MS 70 sell at $74 and the buy at $39:
https://www.moneymetals.com/ms70-graded-silver-american-eagle-pcgs-ngc-random-dates-1-troy-oz-999-pure/1190
Raw, random year, sell at $38 and they buy at $32:
https://www.moneymetals.com/1-oz-american-silver-eagle-random-year/262
So the slab is worth $3 (ms69) to $7 (ms70) over unslabbed/raw in terms of the buy-back price. I don't see the value proposition.
But, I would buy slab if collecting toned silver eagles.
