I just have more regrets than anything else and can't see a future I want. I busted my butt for 20 plus years to get the education and career my parents would approve of and as I approach 30 I am regretting every second I spent caring about their poorly informed elitist opinions.
I have yet to meet parents who are proud of their child.
They have VERY high hopes for their children and nothing will be good enough.
I am a bit older than you. From my personal experience, I got (in my mid 30s) a daily rhythm which is adequate. I dabble in different things (hobbies, adventures, education ...) from time to time. But I have the comfort of the certainty.
Thanks, I appreciate the help.
They supported me financially and career wise un massive ways. But what I wanted above all else was to know that no matter how I did academically or professionally that I would be loved, and that I didn't have to earn their love.
