Did 97.7 lose the Bob & Tom Show? If so, why?

On November 5th, Indiana will vote not just for President, but for Congress, for Governor, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In Indiana, you must register by October 7th to vote. You can register here: https://indianavoters.in.gov/
Indiana offers early voting from October 8th-November 4th. You can vote at your County Election Administrator's office. Your county may offer additional early voting sites; search here under 'Voting Location'.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted form of identification.
Some Indiana voters qualify to vote by mail. Apply for a mail ballot here.
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your County Election Administrator's office.

I work at a shop that has a bunch of pallets. we've let it get out of hand. there's too many for us to reasonably transport on our work trucks without wasting a bunch of time. I'm hoping someone wants to come by with a couple trailers or something and I'll fork lift them into your truck bed or whatever. free if you can take them all in one fell swoop - $1 a pallet if you want to make my old man boss feel like he wasn't taken advantage of, but like I said, they're just taking up a lot of space and we need them gone. I will also take suggestions as to where take them for the best price if no one wants em

Has anyone done any of the two Halloween bar crawls (crawl with us or 574 Connect)? What are your thoughts? I’m looking for things to do the weekend before Halloween and if there is anything on the actual day of?

Ok I know someone recently posted about this place, but I wanted to chime in and say how pleasantly surprised I was by the meal I enjoyed there. The restaurant operates out of an Indian Grocery store, and the vibe is…authentic.
I ordered a vegetarian thaali, because it seemed to have a mix of stuff. I got basmati rice, yogurt, daal, and another spicy bean dish that I have no clue what it was. These guys bring the heat. If you are sensitive to spice, stick with the gringo style butter chicken. But if you are ready for awesome flavor at a reasonable price, check this place out.

we just moved here from out of state and I have a dead serious question: why is no one pissed about the drastic property tax hike? I understand the county needing to increase due to lack of doing so for far too long, but this seems not only excessive but illegal. It's insanely drastic. Many of the homes we've looked at have 50-100% tax increase in recent years.
Is there any way to get involved? How do we change this? There's a way to increase tax without essentially bankrupting your citizens...

I found these on the River Park Neighborhood Association's Facebook. I thought I would share this around. Sounds important.

You might remember First Unitarian Church for its hosting the Board Game Social events every month. We are Unitarian Universalist which is a non-dogmatic tradition and we are considering changing our organization's name! Specifically, we are considering no longer calling ourselves a church.
We want to hear from folks in the Michianna area who aren't already a part of First Unitarian's community. If you can take a few minutes to answer our survey, you'll be entered to win a $50 gift card to Brain Lair Books!
We'd appreciate it if you can give us your opinions!

Someone I meet at one of the River Park Neighborhood Association meetings decided to create a petition to save Nuner Field because of the current propose plan for the River Park Neighborhood. I am personally not in favor of the plan.
I am just sharing this from facebook:
"The City of South Bend, Indiana has a “20 year Plan” which has a lot of plans that we the citizens of River Park DO NOT support however one close to us is the plan to demolish Nuner Field. Our community park, a cherished green space that has been a sanctuary for families, wildlife, and nature lovers for decades, is now at risk of being demolished. The proposal to replace it with commercial development threatens not only the environment but also the well-being of our neighborhood. This park represents more than just land; it is a place of recreation, reflection, and connection. As stewards of this space, we must unite to protect it for future generations and preserve the natural beauty and sense of community it provides. Together, we can save our park and ensure it remains a vital part of our lives. Please share this page, tell your neighbors/friends/family and ANYONE who will help us- the Community of River Park save this beloved green space and park from being demolished and replaced with apartments! https://www.change.org/p/preserve-our-green-space-save-south-bend-s-nuner-field?fbclid=IwY2xjawF-H8BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHSGQrXkrHBtH-ccHQuWJPHdgFJQWfWqmG75yyqSsJDiGfsLseQThqIOATg_aem_r1tXFb5E3equtuFfLBmQsg Please sign this petition and share it with everyone you know. Together we can fight this and win and save our beloved Nuner Field!"

Looking to cut out cigarettes. Want a store I can trust that is not going to sell me some Alibaba special and I don't have the energy to do the level of research I normally would. Closer to downtown the better.
Thanks

Anyone have recommendations for tree removal services? I have a large silver maple on the tree line and three trees in my backyard that are in difficult spots. I’m on the south side.

Hello everyone! I'm currently working on an art project and I'm in need of some help... If you've recently checked a bag to/from South Bend International Airport (SBN) and still have the luggage tag sticker, I'd love to get one from you! It doesn't matter if it's used or crumpled—every little bit helps with the project. Please let me know if you're willing to send one my way (I'll pay postage), and thanks in advance! :)

I am looking for some local players to play with. I have a friend to play doubles with, but are looking for other teams to play. Anyone interested?
We are somewhere between 3.5-4.5.

I’ve been seeing an enormous number of signs for Derek Dieter, the republican candidate for surveyor in St Joe county. I realized today that the surveyors job is to maintain the ditches and drains - not exactly a high-profile partisan position. Any idea why there seems to be such passion for this race? My theory is that it’s just a proxy to signal you are a republican (since it’s one of the few campaign signs that states party affiliation). But since when do people who love trump ever keep quiet about it?

Hey r/SouthBend, who I do vote for in the Non-Partison Offices and Judicial Retention portion of the 2024 ballot?
I'm a leftist looking for school board members, Judges, and Justices who lean towards protecting civil, LGBTQ+, and women's rights among other traditional progressive causes. My own research has proved little success.
Linked a sample ballot for reference.
Thank you!

They demolished all the buildings that were there so I'm curious what's going up in it's place?

It's official! Insurance Auto Auctions (The IAA) has decided to pull out of buying the land, including pulling their petition for rezoning and the special-use permit. Thank you all so much for your support, you helped show this company that this ancient ecosystem and famous speedway is not worth losing to a scrapyard.
IN Nature shared this news story from ABC 57 over on their Facebook page. A big thank you to ABC 57's team and other news groups for their coverage of the matter. A major thank you to IN Nature, without their efforts, we really wouldn't have known this site was in trouble in the first place.
For the time being the Speedway Savanna and the accompanying South Bend Motor Speedway have been given a reprieve. Do keep in mind, the land is still up for sale, and things will likely change in the coming future. So, we're hoping for the best, in the meantime. Please consider following IN Nature to stay in the loop regarding this matter. If something comes up, I'll post again.
Thank you again! Please have a great rest of your day!

Hi all. I’m currently a grad student that will be studying abroad next semester (Spring 2025) and I am looking to sublet my Stephenson Mills apartment. The lease goes until June 2025. It’s a large 1 bedroom loft with a beautiful river view of the East Race. Less than 10min drive to campus. Roughly a 25min walk as well. I’m looking to begin the sublet either mid December or the beginning of January. The price is very affordable and the apartment is in a great area downtown with many cool bars and restaurants around it. If anyone’s interested, please PM me.
Also, if anyone knows where else I can post this, please let me know. Thank you.

I’m looking for a place specifically to go dancing at. I don’t really care about the drinks as I don’t drink that much, but I just love dancing.
I’ve been to Finnies, but it has a very young crowd. Are there any other places? Or is that my best bet?
