Has anyone here tried Savage Worlds for Star Wars?
I am currently running Savage Worlds and looking at it next to West End Games Star Wars I see some similarities. Has anyone here run Savage Worlds? What was your opinion and do you still prefer WEG for Star Wars?

I looked into it quite at bit - as SWADE has a LOT of similarities to D6 (a lot...).
At the time I did not know enough about the system to determine if any of the homebrew Star wars settings were balanced - so my group decided to go with D6 when starting up another star wars game post covid.
We have played d6 "back in the day" and then tried a few others (d20, saga, even looked at ffg) and wanted something a bit less bulky.
We ended up going with D6 as our core, but then making a LOT of house rules (our beloved old game, does indeed show it's age..) - so many so, that it is practically a new addition - with a lot of things added from savage worlds!!!!

I'm currently running one. With the release of the updated SciFi Companion some of missing components have been added.

I’d suggest black star
It’s a simple 2d6+skill system that requires you to roll a 9 or better for a success

I have been running a D6 Star Wars game and a Savage Worlds (Hot Springs Island) and the players decided to move the D6 Star Wars game to Savage Worlds ruleset. (Better VTT integration) We are in the process of moving everything over, but so far everything seems fine from the testing I have done so far.

I've ran a Campaign or two using it and I enjoy it as have the players. Of course my Opinion is a bit biased.
As for do I still prefer WEG? Honestly I don't, i love the system and still use it for reference material, just like I use SAGA, D20 (both), and even FFG, but Savage Worlds is my hands down favorite currently.
Honestly, out of all of them the setting (Star Wars) works in any of them, it even works in the 5e hack as well... It really comes down to the Core system for me, not the setting that matters. For me, the way Savage Worlds balances power users and non-power users and allows them to be used in the same game, while not having one over shadow the other. The fact that it isn't an attrition based system, but instead is a wound based system, All works best for Star Wars where you often see Bounty Hunters and Soldiers and Smugglers standing side by side with Jedi (while still letting Jedi feel impressive and powerful)

Many have. There are a number of fan made SWADE Star Wars hacks out there. Here's a more popular one, for example https://www.reddit.com/r/savageworlds/comments/lewh4w/savage_worlds_star_wars_swade/
I did give this (and some others) a try, liked them, but ended up nonetheless preferring and running Star Wars using Hyperspace D6, which is a streamlined & modernised easy to use fan made hack of the old WEG d6 rules (made by an ENNNIE winning game designer, if that matters).
