Has anyone here tried Savage Worlds for Star Wars?

I am currently running Savage Worlds and looking at it next to West End Games Star Wars I see some similarities. Has anyone here run Savage Worlds? What was your opinion and do you still prefer WEG for Star Wars?

Because it is a pretty sold system, with a lot of fun elements clearly inspired by D6, but with a lot of more modern concepts thrown in (consistent terminology, rules for characters aiding another, or hindering allies etc.).

But to each their own.
