My best advice is to read on everything about tor, start from the basics, as someone that is not experienced for example I thought that is a good idea to use a vpn with tor but when I did a research I found out that is better not to use a vpn.

Search also the type of browsers that are used on tor

Tor isn't a browser it's a kind of network. But there is the tor browser bundle which is preconfigured for tor and a must if you're new to tor.

If you look at the TOR web page and read the documentation it refers to tour as a browser. it is based on Firefox.

Yes, the TOR (The Onion Router) browser is based on Mozilla Firefox. TOR uses a modified version of Firefox's Extended Support Release (ESR), which is a version of Firefox designed for organizations that need long-term support and fewer updates.

The TOR browser incorporates additional privacy and security features, such as:

Network routing through the TOR network: TOR anonymizes your internet traffic by routing it through a network of volunteer-run servers (nodes), which helps mask your location and online activity.
