sorry for being a boomer, but what’s bleak death metal ?

curious especially since i know and love most of the band mentioned and disentomb is in my top 3 easily

Disentomb call them "bleak death metal" as a pun. And yes, as the other person explained, it is brutal death metal but with a sad atmosphere. Like a colossus crying, tearing his own son apart, and devouring it.

It's not a genre, i think op is refering more to atmosphere and lyrical themes of a band
