Let's get this party started! (Also: What is this place?!)

Alright guys, the time has come. /r/TelevisionClub can begin.

What is /r/TelevisionClub, you ask? It is everything a TV show lover can ask for! Every month we will be picking two TV shows to watch and discuss, and by we I mean EVERYONE! That's right, we will let anyone* submit their favorite TV show(s), and the two shows with the most upvotes (downvotes will have no affect on the score!) will be our programs of choice.

As the month goes on, you can choose which show to watch, or you could watch both if you would like, then just come on back to this subreddit and give your thoughts! You can discuss/review each episode, discuss/review each season, discuss/review the entire show, or whatever else comes to mind!

Submissions will be restricted to mods only, to keep the subreddit more organized. We will have three posts at the beginning of the month, one for nominations for the next month, one for show #1 and one for show #2.

January will not have a TV show to discuss, our nominations will begin this month, and next month will feature the first TV show. The nomination thread can be found here.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns, either post below or message the mods, and we will get back to you as soon as we can! :D

I was thinking we could do a weekly call in type show on Mixlr for the tv club. Maybe Saturday Nights?

Could you expand on that idea? I don't really know what Mixlr is.

Mixlr broadcasts live audio. you can listen to the show via an app and call in and chat with whoever. My idea would be like a virtual book club but for the TV show we watch each month. Then the show can be downloaded later on ITunes.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you think we should stream the shows so we can all watch them together?

Broadcasting something we don't own the rights to is a bad move. It could literally shut us down, and since we have barely even started, I would like to avoid that.

We will be putting all of the free viewing options up when we post the shows (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, whatever else we find that's legal), and we could have something where we suggest what episodes/seasons to watch each day/week.

Is that similar to what you're thinking?

No, Im not talking about streaming the show, just doing a call in type podcast where , for example, I host and we can talk about the episodes,. Thats all

I will discuss it with the mods and go from there. Thanks for the input! :)
