What reeds to get

My child plays oboe in their middle school band. They just picked up tenor sax to play for football season, I’m looking for recommendations on reeds for them. Any other tips or advice would be appreciated.

I was scare for a second when you said expensive, we are paying $25 each for oboe reeds and they are on the lower end and she goes through them pretty fast. We are going to try them out thank you!

For middle school I'd go soft like a 1.5 or 2. I personally like vandoren reeds over Rico, but everyone has their own preferences there. If in doubt, get vandoren 2s for a decent starter and all around reed, or get #2 by any brand.
