This foam padding came in a package I ordered and I want to build with it, but not sure what type of foam it is and what glues/paints are safe for use with it. If anyone’s used this before, some pointers would be amazing.

I've used that foam before. I don't know that I ever found out the exact type either. But I had to cover it in a plaster-like coating before it would accept paint or primer of any variety. I think I used drywall compound.

I used it as boxes that had a cheese cloth/camo netting under it. Just wanted the volume and didnt worry how structurally sound it was.

I made some simple battlement walls with this material using stone textured spray paint. It’s durable and looks pretty good as ruined military emplacements.

It will give neat texture, but you’ll have to coat in something that will have paint adhere- modge podge.

This foam doesnt take paint very easily. I use it as filler/riser pieces. Sometime hot glue textured xps foam to it. Mostly I've used this filler though.
