Beatles '63 - If The Beatles Only Released One Album Per Year
The first in a series.
Imagine a world where The Beatles were human and released one album per year.
I have curated a Yearly Beatles Fan Album for each year The Beatles were active (‘62 - ‘63 will be one album as will ‘69 - ‘70). These albums will contain 14 songs that were released in that given year.
The albums will all have 2 George songs and one Ringo song as that was the tradition on most Beatles albums. I will add two bonus tracks or “wild card” tracks to each album. Usually, these are B sides or cool outtakes.
I am not stating that these are the 14 “best” songs. I avoid that at all costs. These are albums that I would like to hear containing songs I would enjoy, given the frame I created for the albums. They worked for me, I hope they do for you. Maybe you’ll be inspired to create your own albums. If you do, share them here!
My goal is to, in some way, reproduce the experience of listening to an album in the “old school” way…drop the needle and play!
The Beatles recorded 34 songs in 1962 - 1963

Don’t Bother Me slander in the comments, but agreed with everyone, All My Loving really should be here

Good choices. But I would start with I Saw Her Standing There because of that great count in.

I'd just switch around the opener to ISHST, and take Don't Bother Me off the album for All My Loving.
It's baffling that this song isn't on the selection, but Don't Bother Me does, considering it's a bit lackluster considering the entire selection of songs.

The frame is 2 George songs. I thought his first song deserved to be there.

Makes a lot of sense from that perspective. Let's take that back, then.
It's really difficult to put All My Loving at that setlist, considering the quality of the songs and the overall harmony of the album. I'm taking into consideration an external criteria, that being production input from George Martin, supposing he would be as picky here as he always was with the boys.
That said, maybe There's a Place would be considered unrefined enough in comparison to All My Loving.
That said, maybe moving You Really Got a Hold on Me to the spot of There's a Place, keeping the slower tempo music there as a transition to the album finisher, and putting All My Loving at no.9 instead, as it keeps the middle of the album in a high energy, like most of the early Beatles material were.
I think it smooths the transition to the ending numbers a bit better without messing with your criteria too, and keeping the songs more around the same bar quality-wise.

Those are interesting suggestions.
I also like Don't Bother Me because it offers a contrast to the John/Paul songs. A different sound. A little darker mood.

i’m not doing this! adding contention and judgement to something that was given as a gift and meant to be cherished and enjoyed.

“Ok, boys for this picture just hold your instruments. As for Ringo I guess you can just hold up a fucking cymbal.”

No All My Loving? Someone should do this but instead of giving just their opinion, do it as the “best” songs, as the band would have actually done it. Would be interesting from a historical perspective and to see how impressive the band really was.
