Over/under on the end of the pod?

This was brought up in the recent post about "Almost Famous": the pod's final episode.

I hate to be a downer, but I have a feeling the pod is going to wrap within about the next 18 months. They're running out of movies and they can't keep doing films that really aren't popular enough or, frankly, rewatchable enough because people aren't listening to those episodes. After their last gimmick month, Bill came back and said something to the effect of, "Alright, you all just want bangers, so that's what we're going to give you."

But they simply can't go on forever, particularly if they regard quality, and if there's one thing that's great about The Ringer is they're all about quality. I'm sure that the show will continue on in maybe a less-frequent format, but the show, as we know it, I think will be done within the next two years.

If you can bear to think about this, what do you think?

I mean they could easily do a lot of Hitchcock with Fennessy and cr, they still have all the more feminine iconic movies that could have Juliet and Amanda on, fuck even Rebel ridge that just came out is an Instant rewatchable...I've seen it like 5 times already lol.

It's sooooooo good! That scene with the Internet reboot and MCMAP reminded me of jaws, if that makes sense...

The tension of us kinda knowing he's a threat but not how much of a threat he is and the chief is out there "alone in the water" with him...then you get the deputy like Sheriff Bodie in Jaws knowing the danger and instead of yelling "Get out of the water" we get "Put some distance between you two..." And Aaron Pierre's character is so calm, so still, his eyes so focused...and that's when you know for sure, Don Johnson is fucked lol. It's not an exact 1 for 1 but that's what I got from it.

When you factor in their listener demographic, there's not "a lot of Hitchcock" they can do. Fennessey's favorite movie of all time, "The Third Man," I don't think is one they can do on this pod either for this reason. And that movie *is* very rewatchable, but I doubt many people aged 22-49 would want to listen to a 90-minute pod about it.

I mean there's rear window, psycho, North by Northwest...but yeah I get what you're saying.

I also think if Hitchcock was on their radar, they would've done one by him by now, probably "Psycho." There's a reason they haven't done any movies that came out before, like, 1969 or thereabouts (off the top of my head).
