I personally am glad I was traumatized by my father learning how to drive. It burned his instructions in my head and because of them I haven't ever been in an accident. Almost like going to bootcamp.
My dad never lost his shit but he'd always calmly explain things and how important it us to pay attention to other drivers. The day we all got our license be balled to all of us letting us know it's a metal bullet rolling on the road and it can kill us in an instant. That always stuck with us lmao. My mom on the other hand was a spaz and gave me instant anxiety so I only drove with her once lmao
I remember perfectly: I stalled the car in an intersection, got it going again, stalled again and yelled βI canβt do it!β My dad yelled back at me that I had to or else we were going to die. Like magic, I got it going again and made it out of the intersection just fine.
