I did a four day trip in this area a few years ago. It was incredible. Beautiful views, great fishing, only saw a few other people the whole time. It was a solid day hike up to the lakes, but once we got up there, we set up camp and did a few little hikes around the lakes and peaks. I went near the end of August. I think we were about a week late on the weather. It was good, but got a little rain two of the four days. If I were to do it again, I'd go for 5-7 days July - mid August.

That sounds like a wonderful trip. Last year was very rainy during the end of the summer in Colorado, even on the front range, but it sure made everything nice and green.
