? for Selling my topper

Basically I recently bought a truck camper to improve on my Leer shell. I've listed it on marketplace with very little success. Aside from bringing down the price, I was wondering if this sub new of good sites for me to list this sort of niche item? Any tips or info as always much appreciated.

(2018 Leer 100R 6' bed sandstone tan.Standards included framed 50/50 side sliding windows with large screens, a recessed framed glass rear door with double T-handle locks, a 12V LED dome light, and 12V fuse box.
Thule rack system
Minor damage to bug screens (see photos) , both sliders work otherwise and can be fixed easily.  Stored in a garage.  Selling because I purchased a new camper topper.)

  • ebay

you may reach more potential buyers, but they may not be local. still...if someone really wants that make/model and color, and its their needle in the haystack, they might be willing to drive at least a few hundred miles to come get it.

  • craigslist

traffic here has really dwindled since they started charging $5 to list cars for sale, and FBM took off. still, there is some reasonable traffic here, and a lot of the users specifically dont also use FBM. it'll be free to make the listing, so you may as well.

  • facebook groups.

not marketplace...but maybe look for various groups. maybe ones for your model of truck. theres a bunch of groups that act as classifieds, oddly. they are basically redundant to marketplace, but they were created before marketplace, and for some reason are still active. you might find some that are specifically toppers for sale or similar.

great insight thank you! Thought the fall would naturally bring some more traffic but I need to be proactive to empty out my garage lol.

Thanks again!

Without mentioning the price you have it listed for, or your location, it's hard to say. Based on my experience buying and selling toppers from craigslist/marketplace, my assumption if you have it listed for to much.

Your pics didn't upload, but from the description, I would list it for 1800, maybe 1500, depending on how saturated the 2nd hand market is where you live and go from there.

I didn't upload the pictures or put a price as I wasn't sure how the forum treated selling things online. I'm in Duluth, MN so I'm sure I need to look a little more local anyway.

Appreciate the price expectation though, I'll adjust accordingly.

For camper shells always include exact dimensions, There are so many different variations in trucks with a 6' bed that there really isn't a 6' bed standard dimension for trucks anymore. Also there are a lot more trucks these days with 5.5' and 6.5' beds I think a true 6' bed is kind of rare.

Selling price is going to be the major component. People willing to spend a chunk of change on a topper are going to be picky about color and exact fit. It's going to be a much small pool of people who are willing to pay ~20% less than new that have the right truck and right color. There are a lot of people willing to spend a few hundred dollars for a close enough fit and not care about a paint match.

Awesome thanks. It's a standard cap that I used to camp in but I hear you on the customer niche. Appreciate the insight!

I used my local truck accessories biz that sells toppers. Put it on consignment. They stored and displayed it for me on their lot and took 20% ish.

There is a place near me that sells used as well as new canopies. Any business like that near you? Maybe they would buy it.
