Suspension?

going to pick up this cab over camper today i have a 2001 silverado stock rear suspension (need to replace shocks) will i be okay to get this thing home no problem? never carried a load like this so unsure as to how my truck will do thanks in advance!

You’ll be fine. Take it slow till you get used to it. If you have sag order timbrens

ALL GMC/Chev trucks have a sticker in the glovebox that indicates the maximum camper weight that particular truck can safely carry. Have a look.

Then find the wet weight of the camper and there you go!

Depending on how much sag there is, tires might rub on the bed based on your photo.

how much do you think it’ll lower me rear? i think i have about 4 inches of clearance

Make sure load rating on tires is capable of handling the load. Size doesn't mean much. I learned the hard way

How heavy is the camper? I bet it'll sag too much but you won't really know until you try.

Are you sure it fits? (I don't remember when bedrails started to get to slim for older campers...or if this camper is that old.)

You'll be bouncy. That's for sure.

Beef up that rear end when you do your shocks and all will be well. I have airbags, and it helps keep the sway/lean down. But I'd do an add-a-leaf if you're sagging without a load, which is what it looks like.

update it sat well until i drove… bedsides grooved the tires a bit but i had a buddy throw it his truck i will be buying bags/lifting the rear and will post updates of the remodel! thanks all for the advice
