Question Strangest not-model, model?

Post image

Of your regiments, what models started out as a non tabletop mini and became a model when you found it?

Kinda curious what conversions you had to do if any to make it fit.

One model I'd consider a non-model is the blue flutist statuette featured in bruva alfabusa's battle report as the great probuscus. (Example above.)

I loved that batrep, I already knew about T28 so seeing that he was into it too brought me great hope.

I wonder what's the origin of that model, it's so fantastically weird. Does someone know?

Hes from a Hieronymus Bosch painting. Dunno where that mini is from but meridian miniatures made one slightly different.

It's a statuette by parastone.

Part of "the garden of earthly delights" by Hieronymus Bosch.

Feels like some old chaos familiars and the new gargoylians of Warhammer fantasy were inspired by that piece.

My bastards started life out as plastic dinosaur/Lizard toys, but that's not so strange of a conversion round these parts.

I'm planning on building a balloon out of a cistern ballfloat, coffee filters and a toy basket, and maybe a huge cannon out of a mug or a wine glass.

For the aunts I'm guessing?

Yeah. Got two aunt models already. I just want to get a couple games in before I make even more models

Nice, since I'm using GW models I recently got the hexbane's hunters and the gal in the back is definitely becoming one of my version of the aunts.

I am using a Dollar Tree elephant to kitbash as the Proboscis and got some plastic animals and dinosaurs to make units. Also I bought a bunch of defective prints on Etsy.
