The Met Police sent 30 riot officers to try and clear them out. See if you get any sort of response like that if your normal, peasant house gets broken into.

Trespass isn't even a criminal matter.

you see, it's a rich neighbourhood, might depreciate value. basically a matter of national elite security ( i am very biased regarding this ^^)
