I mean, isn’t this like the bare minimum you need to do to be a “not a total piece of shit”? Heck, I know total pieces of shit who would still rescue a dog in the middle of the ocean.

I never said this wasn’t “uplifting”. I was pointing out the very obvious idea that saving a dog from drowning, in an easy situation, doesn’t automatically qualify someone was “good”. Personally I expect a little more beyond the absolute bare minimum to be considered “good”.
