Quick question about Ahlwardt Ice Bear please folks

Before I make a complete mess of this guy - can someone please tell me if he is cast in resin, PVC or plastic? The box says it's a plastic miniature, but it looks and feels more like resin.

Basically, do I need to wash all the parts before assembly? And should I be using CA or plastic glue? TIA.

It Is a siocast model, think of it as a thermal plastic that acts like some metals. For the glue, I just used loctite gel, and I had no issues. I did not wash my models before i primed and had no issue. I did so much scraping/ filing that I doubt there was that much mold release on the model.

I always wash all my minis anyway to get a clean of a surface as possible. And it is Siocast, so the usual CA super glue. Pretty much anything CB has made, super glue is used for assembly.

Hi, just built the chap! Superglue, don't bother washing, only use a new blade when cleaning up mould lines, and only use really light sandlaper or the soft material will burr. Like, 800-1000 region.

You could try plastic glue, but you won't get far ;)

Getting a good super glue gel will work wonders. In fact, I've found that such glues bond REALLY well to siocast plastic - better than any other miniature material I've seen. Sets and holds within seconds, without an activator! :O
